Michael Gable’s Story:

Michael grew up in Monroe, WA and then played Division 1 soccer and graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, CA.

Michael was known for his passion for life. His energy lit up a room. He had a warm and caring personality and infectious smile. Michael dreamed “big”, and in many cases, made his dreams come true. His family and friends were everything to Michael especially his two kids, Matteo and Grace. He loved being a dad.

On September 17, 2009, Michael passed away due to an undetected heart issue, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. He had no signs or symptoms that something was wrong with his heart. It happened very suddenly and quickly. He was in great shape having been athletic all his life and playing Division 1 soccer in college.

We learned through genetic testing that we have a dominant gene in our family for cardiomyopathy which has helped us be proactive with others.

Michael’s spirit lives on through his kids, many loved ones, and the work of the Gable Heart Beats Foundation to help save lives.
